Who we are

Refuge Place International (RPI) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in Liberia, West Africa, in December 2009. RPI's mission is to develop a replicable healthcare model for poor and marginalized people living in urban slums and rural communities of Liberia. This model empowers these communities to establish their own high-quality maternal, newborn, and child (MNC) care services, ultimately working towards reducing the high MNC mortality rate.

RPI/USA is a subsidiary of RPI and operates as a 501(c)(3) Organization. It was established to secure funding and provide administrative oversight for RPI. Donations to RPI/USA are tax-exempt.
